Born in Romania in 1973, Alex Voinea is an artist currently living in Sitges, Barcelona. His artistic journey took flight in Italy after departing from Romania in the wake of the revolution. Over the years, his creations have found a place in numerous international art centers, including Brussels, Paris, London, Milan, Amsterdam, New York, and Los Angeles.
Voinea's abstract paintings are characterized by fading backgrounds, vibrant sweeping brushstrokes, and an array of saturated and fluorescent colors that evoke a sense of fluidity and motion. He captures fleeting moments of tension and relief that last only a thousandth of a second, using undulating strokes that vibrate against geometric planes of color, inspired by experiments with paint poured over vibrating surfaces. Voinea uses projections of paint, splashes of pure material, and streams of color in space to express the temporary nature of life, capturing and freezing an imaginary big bang of color in an instant.

He uses projections of paint, splashes of pure material, and streams of color in space to express the temporary nature of the world.
In his work, Voinea captures and freezes an imaginary and expressive big bang of color in an instant. His paintings are a testament to his ability to capture the fleeting nature of life in his art.
